Grant identification, writing and implementation comprise our core services. The need to support and connect nonprofit organizations to deepen the impact made in the community is important. Our services include program compliance monitoring, agency certifications, performance management, internal controls review, employee, and leadership training. Our diverse team of licensed professionals is also equipped to provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services.

MVG Consulting’s skilled team of experienced grant writers and clinicians collectively have over 30 years of ​​experience working in non-profit and government agencies. As professional grant writers, MVG consultants have amassed a wide range of experience in the non-profit field. MVG Consulting has written, managed, and provided consultation for federal and state agencies, corporations, and foundations of every size. Our expertise covers topics like health and human services, construction bids, juvenile justice, afterschool programming, substance abuse treatment, child welfare, arts and culture, food scarcity, community development, housing, and homelessness.

Rashida Gordon, LMHC

CEO and Founder

Rashida has written grants as both an in-house grant writer and as a consultant. Rashida has experience working as a direct service provider, Supervisor and Director of Programs for non-profits over the past twelve (12) years. Rashida ‘s passion for service and non-profit work lends to her success as a grant writer.

Rashida has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminology. She has a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. Rashida has successfully raised over $2 million for her clients in grants.


Leslie M. Brown, LMFT

Consultant

 Leslie M. Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a professional grant writer, Mrs. Brown has worked for the government and private agencies identifying and securing funding for over twenty (20) years. She has worked in a variety of settings providing counseling to individuals and their families. Most recently, Brown worked extensively with veterans and their families, as well as with middle school, high school youth, and families. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in Counseling at Barry University and received a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. ​

Her research interest includes the evolution of families, race/class/gender, and cultural competency, as well as indigenous and traditional mental health healing modalities. Brown has a considerable background in fundraising, grant writing, outreach, and programming in the non-profit and government sectors.


Jamila McDonald, Esq

Consultant

Mrs. McDonald is an Attorney at law with over sixteen (16) years of experience in contract law. She lectures in the areas of commercial law and contract law both locally and internationally. Presently, she is an Agency Attorney in the State of New York. ​

As a member of the team, he provides a critical overview, feedback, and analysis in the grant writing process. She prepares and reviews complex grant contracts or bids for clients seeking state or federal funding. As our in house attorney, he provides legal oversight for the provision of various services and nonprofit infrastructure construction. ​

She provides consultation as needed for grant contracts and acquisitions. She also acts as a liaison with executives on behalf of clients with city agencies, and non-governmental entities.
